Welcome to our courses and training programme 2009

At the Organic Centre we provide a public service with a varied education programme, from professional training for new and existing growers to one-day courses for anyone who wants to grow some of their own food and live more sustainably.

To help you choose your course, this year we have divided our course programme into four categories

• Growing, food production and gardening
• Cooking, preserving and health
• Natural energy and green building
• Arts and crafts

Attending a course is an investment! It will lead to new skills, practical expertise
and confidence and you will become part of a national network of growers and
gardeners.

We have developed our gardens, polytunnels, orchard, willow nursery, compost
display area and forest garden to demonstrate best practice to visitors, while at
the same time providing excellent training facilities for students and course
participants. We also produce organic vegetables, fruit and herbs for our shop
and our Grass Roof Café, local health-food stores and restaurants.
We are proud to have some of the best tutors and teachers in the country who
receive tremendous feedback from customers (see visitor comments throughout
the booklet).
